The Colorado Rockies are hiring a Lead Analyst to join the Research & Development team within Baseball Operations. This role involves using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to provide actionable insights that drive decisions on and off the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, test, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to support scouting, player development, and team decision-making.
  • Analyze large datasets on player performance, game statistics, and team metrics to identify patterns and trends.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast player performance and game outcomes, refining them with new data and feedback.
  • Translate data analysis into actionable recommendations for coaching staff, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Build data tools and dashboards to support real-time decision-making and performance tracking.
  • Conduct innovative research to enhance the team’s analytical capabilities, applying new techniques and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with coaches, scouts, and executives to align research efforts with organizational goals.
  • Maintain and improve existing projects, ensuring data accuracy and quality.
  • Present findings and insights to technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring presentations to meet their needs.
