With its Future Analytics Stars Program, the NBA is opening the door to a new generation:
“The NBA Future Analytics Stars Program is designed to promote diversity in the basketball, business and marketing analytics spaces by providing participants with access to mentorship, networking and development opportunities, as well as real-world insights. The program will connect current executives in these fields with the next generation of leaders in analytics.“
The NBA’s virtual program will run for approximately six months, starting in August 2021. Leading the program will be analytics professionals from the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League and NBA 2K League.
Participants will engage with content including NBA Analytics 101, Acing a Data Science Interview, Data Visualization Do’s and Don’ts, resume writing for sports analytics careers, personal branding, interview prep and candid discussions on growing a successful career in sports analytics.
The NBA’s application emphasizes, “Diversity and inclusion are central to our game, and we believe that they are catalysts for innovation.
