Two New Awards Announced at 3rd Annual iSTEAM Expo

The 3rd annual iSTEAM Expo, held at Fordham Prep’s Moglia Commons on April 30, showcased over a dozen student-led activities, including Robotics, 3D Printing, Game Development, and more. The event celebrated student creativity in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. iSTEAM Coordinator Dr. Raymond Gonzalez highlighted the students’ contributions, while President Anthony Day emphasized the importance of adapting Jesuit education to modern technological advancements.

The evening featured the inaugural Freeman iSTEAM Innovation Award, presented to Paul Creegan, a standout student for his dedication to the iSTEAM program. The event also honored longtime science teacher Peter McNamara, who showcased an Apple IIe computer and received a standing ovation for his 39 years of service as he prepares for retirement. Additionally, a dozen seniors received Leadership in Technology (LIT) certificates for their contributions to science and technology at the school.

 

The night concluded with Dr. Gonzalez offering words of encouragement to the students and expressing gratitude to the parents for their support.
